Sandia Speedway MX started out as Sandia MX Park in June 2003 with the Grand Opening race in September of 2003. We started out not knowing much, but we wanted a place for people to ride on a safe track....we learned a lot (of both what to do and what not to do)! After 3 years, the lease for the land almost doubled, and more and more money had to be put in the kitty just to stay afloat.  With bills and loans piling up, we had to give up the track in 2009. The track was re-opened for a brief time after that under different ownership. In March of 2011, the Speedway asked Bob Clark (the founder of Sandia MX) if he would like a shot at running it again, but this time, they wanted to reduce the land lease to a level that makes it possible to actually break even! Bob has asked several partners to join him in a shot at building and maintaining the track.....such as Lee Sanchez, Dirk Frew, Tom Bueno, Danny Balley, Kodjo Leeds, Brian and Cindee Heronimus and Brandon Greer ...and that's where we are today!!
