Track Review for Bowers MX

Better hope you like 'rock and roll' cause it blasts all day. Classic rock, not one 'Al Green'. This Amarillo track is a mixture of gumbo and loam, so when it get's wet, it will rut up. This track was designed by the same guy that did "Underground MX" in the Dallas/Ft. Worth, Texas area. The track uses a remote control to drop the gate and raise it. The 30-second sign is held up for about 4-seconds and the 5-second side of the the sign is held up as 'she' walks off the track. The official breaks into the "rock and roll" to tell you when your class is up on the line. They use a software program for sign-up and results and by now, all tracks should be using some software over carbon paper (no kidding). Be prepared to be there all day, with practice at 9:00 am and race at 10:30am, then 17 classes and a 45 minute intermission before the second motos start. Big man-made jumps, and what seems like a quarter mile strait-away, rutted to keep you on your toes, and a non-cement starting area. Big track, 4-laps will wear you out and the pro's run 5 laps, mini-bikes run 3-laps. Running two classes, plus gate fee will run you $60.00 bucks. The people are friendly, plenty of sunshine, all in all a good day, and run professionally by the 'Bowers' family. Easy to find, well marked, and I will be going back!
